Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the mid to late 1950´s. The movement challenged the traditions of the fine art by using imagery from popular culture. Roy Licthenstien´s work definded the premise of pop art through parody, inspired by comic strips and popular advertising creating tounge-incheek works of art.
